Log House Restoration and Addition

The Project

ALL THE STONE USED FOR THE HOUSE AND TERRACES WAS HARVESTED FROM THIS SITE IN THE SAME MANNER THAT THE LOG HOUSE UTILIZED THE STONE FOR ITS FOUNDATION AND CHIMNEY.

A DILAPIDATED 1700S LOG HOUSE WITH AN 1800S ADDITION IN FAUQUIER COUNTY, VIRGINIA WAS METICULOUSLY RESTORED AND UPDATED WITH A STONE ADDITION ON THE RIGHT. THE ORIGINAL LOG HOUSE HAD BEEN IN THE OWNER’S FAMILY FOR GENERATIONS WHEN IT WAS DECIDED TO RESTORE AND ADD-ON TO CREATE A FULL-TIME RESIDENCE.ALL THE STONE USED FOR THE HOUSE AND TERRACES WAS HARVESTED FROM THIS SITE IN THE SAME MANNER THAT THE LOG HOUSE UTILIZED THE STONE FOR ITS FOUNDATION AND CHIMNEY.
